Construction

The project started on paper…after our years of revamping homes.

Breaking ground in March 2020 for the Wren House.

Solid footings were the first step.

We had great weather for construction in the Spring of 2020.

Insulation went down and then the heating tubes.

Once the plumbing was in the floor, concrete was carefully poured about 6 inches thick.

We got a great pour–good weather for concrete.

The slab was sawed to control cracking.

Then the framing started–looking toward the kitchen area.

Framing the bathroom and getting ready to put in the upper deck.

The vaulted ceiling is support by a large laminated beam.

Foam insulation was used in much of the structure–keeps it warm and quiet.

Red cedar going up in the loft.

Building the steps out of solid 2X 12 cedar.
